At Loftus Dental, they offer friendly and comfortable dental services for families and individuals of all ages. Their Rapid City and Sturgis offices are conveniently located with flexible hours to meet many schedules. Loftus Dental began in 1977 when Ron Loftus opened our practice in Rapid City, SD. After serving in the United States Air Force, Ron chose to practice in the Rapid City because of the beauty and promise of the Black Hills area. As time went on and the practice grew, two of Rons sons–T.J. and Jeff–developed an interest in dentistry. It was then that Ron began plans for a second office in Sturgis, SD.
T.J. joined Ron in practice in 1996. He practiced in Rapid City for a short while, then moved his practice to Sturgis, where he has continued to use his dental and people skills to help patients in the Northern Black Hills area. Dental implants attach artificial teeth directly to the jaw through the use of three components: the anchor (embedded into the bone); the post ; and the crown (attached to the post). They can replace one or more teeth, provide support for a partial denture, or be used to attach a full denture. The mildest form of gum disease is gingivitis and it is reversible. But, if it goes untreated, it may lead to periodontitis, in which the gum detaches from the tooth, causing deep pockets to form.
